Recent Change at Headquarters

A recent change has taken place at Alpha Delta Kappa Headquarters. Executive Director Laura Bourgeois is no longer working for Alpha Delta Kappa. We greatly appreciate her 26 years of service with us and wish her nothing but the best.

The International Executive Board has implemented our Succession Plan and is beginning the process to search for a new Executive Director. We have secured the services of Laura Lechner, our consulting CPA, to serve as the Office Manager during this time of transition.

Please continue to communicate with us, as well as staff members, for questions regarding the business of Alpha Delta Kappa. We will keep you informed of developments that occur in the coming weeks.

Form 990-N e-Postcard

Form 990-N e-Postcard

Chapters and states need to file the annual Form 990-N e-Postcard to maintain tax-exempt status on a federal level. Filing the 990-N e-Postcard is also a requirement for the Pearls of Achievement Program. For most states and chapters, this is due annually by October 15.

What does it mean to maintain tax-exempt status? Alpha Delta Kappa International has been declared a 501(c)(3), a nonprofit/charitable organization that has been recognized by the IRS as being tax-exempt by virtue of its charitable programs. This status as a charity means donations to the international organization are tax-deductible.

All S/P/N’s and chapters are currently 501(c)(7) nonprofit organizations and are exempt from paying federal income tax, with some exceptions, so long as they file the 990-N e-Postcard. Note: a 501(c)(7) is not considered a charitable organization and is subject to state sales tax.

Alpha Delta Kappa Month/Founders' Day Central

We come together to remember our Founders and to celebrate our membership in ALPHA DELTA KAPPA. It was through the vision, dedication, and actions of Agnes Shipman Robertson, Marion Southall, Marie Neal, and Hattie Poppino that the state of Missouri in 1947 issued a charter incorporating ALPHA DELTA KAPPA, allowing it to organize chapters in every state and around the globe. We honor our Founders!
